Free Beginner Knit Cozies Pattern for Home

Super quick to create, this fun project can be made as a knit toy or as an egg cozy. Featured in Red Heart Super Saver, the body is worked in garter stitch, in one piece, and then seamed, while the comb and beak are created by simply casting on and off a small number of stitches and sewing them to the head. Stuff the body and sew the bottom to create a toy or leave the body unstuffed and the bottom open for an egg cozy. This is a fun beginner-friendly pattern that will get you comfortable with basic techniques.
